On 20 May 1999, the Agreement on the co-operation in the field of science and technology between the European Community and Cyprus was signed. The objective of this agreement is to develop and facilitate co-operation between the Community and Cyprus by encouraging the mutual access of their research entities to research and development activities in Cyprus on the one hand, and to the Fifth European Framework Programme for research and technological development, on the other hand.
Research entities established in Cyprus may participate in all the specific programmes of the Fifth Framework Programme.
